Fall will be here before you know it and I have been trying to come up with some unique ways to create some pumpkins. I love decorating my home and yard so I wanted a pumpkin that can be used inside my home as well as out in my yard. I am so excited because I have come up with a fun and easy pumpkin using screen for a window or door!
The supplies you will need are:
1. A roll of screen (I am using an aluminum screen from Home Depot)
2. Scissors
3. Wire (you want a thin and flexible wire)
4. Wire cutters
5. Markers
6. Plastic drop clothes
7. Spray paint (I’m using an orange and green spray paint)
The first step is to open your screen and cut a piece to the size that you want to make your pumpkin.
You will want to fold your screen in half so that you have two pieces.
Now you will use the marker to draw the shape of your pumpkin. Your pumpkin can be any shape or size that you want.
You will need to cut your pumpkin out and then you will attach the two pieces of screen together using the wire.
You will use the wire as if you were sewing with thread.
I bent all my edges of the pumpkin inward before sewing them together with the wire.
You will go completely around the pumpkin leaving a large opening at the bottom of the pumpkin.
You will need to stuff pieces of the plastic drop cloth into your pumpkin.
It is easier if you cut your drop cloth into smaller pieces.
Spread open the drop cloth and stuff into your pumpkin.
Once your pumpkin is completely stuffed you will want to close your opening shut with the wire.
Now it is time to spray paint your pumpkin.
I love this DIY because you can create these pumpkins any shape that you want and however big you want.
