Ok Mother’s Day will soon be here and I have been trying to think of some fun ways to give your mother or friend some flowers. We are always creating fun and unique items here at The Shabby Tree and I thought it would be fun to create a decorative box for some flowers. This box can be used for flowers but also for so many other things.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. Three 6×8 framed canvases from the Dollar Tree
2. White spray paint
3. Scissors
4. Hot glue
5. Twelve inch paint stir sticks
The first step is to remove the canvas from the framed canvas.
You will then start with the frame that you left the canvas on. Place this canvas down with the front side of the canvas facing down. You will then start to glue the paint sticks around this canvas.
I started by first glueing two paint sticks at each corner of the canvas.
You want the paint sticks to be flush to each other at the corners.
I then added hot glue to the corners of the frame that has no canvas.
I slid it half way down the center of the glued paint sticks. I did the same thing to the second frame without the canvas but I placed this one closer to the top. Once I had both frames glued in place I started to glue more paint sticks around the frames.
You will glue the paint sticks completely all the way around the frames forming the box
I used a spray paint on the box.
This is so easy to make and there are so many ways to get creative with it. You can use different size can as frames and you can paint it or decoupage it. I hope you will all get creative and give this a try.
