Sometimes it doesn’t take a big renovation to completely change the feel of a room. I started noticing that part of our dining room wasn’t being used much, so I decided to rework the space and turn it into a cozy family corner. With the addition of a couch and a few thoughtful touches, this once-forgotten area quickly became a comfortable spot where we can relax, unwind, and spend time together. It instantly made our home feel more inviting, and I couldn’t wait to see it all come together.

This was my starting point once I moved the couch into the space. The couch was originally in our living room and still had plenty of life left in it, but the wall felt like it needed a statement piece to really ground the area.

I decided to bring in a large antique cabinet that had been on my foyer wall. This piece is perfect for switching out decorations for different seasons and holidays, which makes the space feel fun and ever-changing.

I also chose to keep the antique doors in this room to add to the rustic, cozy feel I was going for.

When you walk into the room, this is the left side, which wraps around to the other side of the space.

On the right side, I felt like it needed its own statement piece as well, so I brought in another cabinet that had also been in the foyer. You can see the second antique door on this side of the couch too, which really helps tie everything together.

I’m beyond excited with how this room turned out and can’t wait to make so many family memories in this cozy new space.
