We’ve added some adorable decorative mice to our website, and I thought it would be fun to make some faux cheese to display with them! Learn how to create DIY fake cheese for a charming display with decorative mice.
You can find the list of supplies that I’ll be using down below.
1. Fast dry spackling
2. Knife
3. Styrofoam from the Dollar Tree
4. Waverly antique wax
5. Kings Gold acrylic paint by Apple Barrel
6. Paint brush
Start by cutting the styrofoam into your desired cheese shape.
Use the end of a paintbrush to create holes in the styrofoam, giving it a classic cheese look.
Next, apply spackling to the styrofoam to give the faux cheese a smooth, textured finish.
Once the spackling is dry, paint the faux cheese to complete the look.
I added a light layer of antique wax for a subtle, aged effect.
This faux cheese makes a fun little decoration you can place anywhere in your home. I hope you feel inspired to get creative and try this DIY!
Barb, I love this idea. I might give it a try.
