I craft a lot and I always find that felt works amazing for so many type of crafts. It will soon be time to start thinking about Spring and Easter and I wanted to create something fun that I can hang on my mantle. I always keep a lighted garland across my mantle and I just knew a few decorative eggs would look amazing hanging from it.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Cream felt

2. Brown shipping paper

3. Easter napkin (I purchased this napkin from Amazon)

4. Elmer’s glue

5. Mod podge

6. Scissors

7. Wire (I am using an 18 gauge rusty wire)

8. Surebonder fabric glue for my hot glue gun

9. Glitter

10. Polyester fiberfill

The first step is to cut out your egg shape. You will want to double the felt and cut out both pieces at once. You can make this egg as big or as small as you want.

The next step is to glue your two pieces together but be sure to leave an opening at the top.

The next step is to create your front pocket. I am using brown shipping paper. You can buy a roll of brown paper from the Dollar Tree or in Walmart. I cut the piece of napkin that I will be using on top of the brown paper.

I traced the napkin piece onto the brown paper and then cut it out. You will want to use the mod podge to decoupage the napkin onto the brown piece of paper.

Be sure to separate the layers of the napkin before decoupaging it onto the brown paper.

You will need to let this part dry and then you will cut it out. You can cut this napkin part to create whatever size pocket you want.

You will then glue the napkin piece onto the front of the egg. Be sure to only glue the sides and bottom piece of the napkin. You will want to leave the top open to form a pocket.

The next step is to add the stuffing to the egg. You don’t want to overstuff the egg. I just lightly stuffed the egg and then glued the opening shut.

I want to hang this egg so I added a piece of rusty wire.

I added some ribbon to one side of the egg.

I used Elmer’s glue to add glitter to the outer trim of the egg.

I then used Elmer’s glue to add a light glitter around the pocket.

I took a few sprigs of greenery and added them into the front pocket.

This is so easy to make and their are so many ways to create it. You can use any type of material or napkin for this egg. I hope you will all get creative and have fun making it.
