DIY Liberty Bell

by blewis | Jun 1, 2024 | Red, White, & Blue | 0 comments

I was recently in the Dollar Tree and I came across a plastic bell cloche. This is the first time that I have ever seen this in my Dollar Tree so I knew I had to get a few of them. I thought it would be fun to turn one into a decorative Liberty Bell.
You will find this cloche in the Dollar Tree by their gardening items.
The supplies that I’ll be using are listed down below.
1. One Bell Cloche from the Dollar Tree
2. Ribbon
3. Warm Caramel spray paint by Rust-oleum
4. Maple Gel Stain by DecoArt
5. Cinnamon
6. Marker
7. Polyurethane spray
8. Paint brush
9. Hot glue (optional)
10. Wire
The first step is to spray paint the Bell Cloche.
Once the spray paint is dry you can use a marker to write 1776 onto the bell.
The next step is to apply the gel stain.
The next step is to add the gel stain and then cinnamon. Once I had the cinnamon sprinkled on I then sprayed on the polyurethane spray. I did this process a few times until I got the look that I wanted.
I created a simple bow to add to the top.
You can glue or wire the bow to the top.
This Liberty Bell was so simple to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
