If you follow The Shabby Tree then you already know that I love giving gifts for all different holidays. Mother’s Day will be here soon and I want to create a fun pocket that can be used for flowers or a gift.
The supplies that I’ll be using are:
1. One 15 inch placemat
2. One 9 inch beaded ring
3. Upholstery thread
4. Needle
5. Scissors
The first step is to sew the beaded ring onto the placemat. You can find round placemats in a variety of stores. I usually get mine from HomeGoods and Walmart.
You’ll need to decide where you want to sew the ring onto the placemat. We’ll be wrapping the placemat to bring both sides together. I wrapped the placemat to see where I wanted the ring to be.
Once you have the ring sewn onto the placemat you’ll then sew the placemat. Bring the sides together as shown in photo above. I started sewing at the bottom and worked my way up.
This pocket is so easy to make and I just love flowers added to it.
You can add a fun gift to this pocket for any holiday or occasion.
I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
