I love creating unique and fun items and recently we have been making a lot of items out of socks. When I was working with some of the socks the other day I thought we could create a fun bracelet out of one. You can use any type of sock for this DIY but a men’s tube sock seemed to work the best for me. If your wrist is very small or you want to make a bracelet for a younger person then you can use a child’s sock.
The supplies you will need are:
1. Socks
2. Surebonder fabric glue
3. Scissors
4. Doilies and embellishments
I really like the Dr Scholl’s men’s socks from Walmart. I have been using these socks for a lot of my DIY’s. You can leave your sock white or you can coffee stain them like I did. I add about a half a cup to a cup of instant coffee to a gallon of warm water. How much coffee you add will depend on how dark you want it to be.
I cut a long center piece of the sock.
You can cut your sock according to how wide you’re going to want your bracelet to be. Once you cut your sock you will then fold the edges in. You will want to use the surebonder glue to hold your edges in place.
You will fold both sides in and glue both sides down and in place. Next you will want to glue your doilies and bling on.
These are so easy to make and you will love how they turn out. I hope you will all get creative and give it a try!
