Sometimes the best DIYs are the easiest ones, and this one might be the simplest yet! We’re taking a basic piece of wall art and giving it a ghostly little makeover for Halloween. I grabbed my picture from Walmart, but you can find something similar at a thrift store, yard sale, or even in your own stash. All you need is a picture and a little paint to create a fun, spooky piece of décor that will make you smile every time you walk by.

The supplies for this DIY are super simple. All you need is a framed photo of your choice—I found it easiest to work with one that didn’t have glass, but if yours does, just remove the glass, paint the picture, and then place the glass back in. You’ll also need white paint, black paint, and a paint brush.

I didn’t go overboard with the number of ghosts—just a few is all you really need. I ended up painting three, and I only gave them one coat of white paint. Letting a little of the wall art peek through gave them a slightly transparent look, which makes them even more fun and ghostly!

Once the white paint dried, I went back in and added simple black dots for the eyes. That’s it—it really is that easy!

And that’s all there is to it! This ghost wall art is such a quick and easy way to add a touch of Halloween fun to your home without spending much time or money. I love how simple supplies can turn into something so unique and festive. Whether you grab a photo from Walmart, a thrift store, or even one you already have on hand, this little makeover is sure to bring a spooky smile to anyone who sees it.
