I have been finding myself in the Dollar Tree a lot lately looking at all of their Fall items. You will find a lot of wooden cut out items in the Dollar Tree right now. I picked up a wooden pumpkin cut that will work perfect for a glitter technique that I am finding very easy to do.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. One wooden pumpkin cut out from the Dollar Tree
2. Paint brush
3. Hot glue
4. Twine
5. Scissors
6. DecoArt Glitter Basecoat
7. DecoArt Dazzling Metallic (I’m using Glorious Gold)
8. DecoArt Glitter Basecoat
9. DecoArt Craft Twinkles (I’m using Gold)
You will find this wooden pumpkin cut out from the Dollar Tree. I removed the raffia bow and set it aside.
I mixed the Glitter Basecoat with the Glorious Gold.
Once you have them mixed together you will paint the mixture over the whole pumpkin.
I decided to add more of the Glorious Gold colored paint to the indented areas only.
You will want to let this dry completely before adding the Craft Twinkles.
I will be adding the Gold colored Craft Twinkles to only the raised part of the pumpkin.
I used hot glue to add twine to the stem.
You can add hot glue to reattach the raffia bow.
Adding the Glitter Basecoat to the paint allowed the Gold colored Craft Twinkles to cover the raised parts of the pumpkin very easily. This is a very quick and easy way to add glitter without a glitter mess. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
