My front porch is where I like to sit and relax and I love having it decorated for all holidays and season’s. I thought it would be fun to make a door hanger that can easily be changed out for all season’s and holiday’s.
The main supply that I’ll be using for this DIY is an embroidery hoop.
You can use any size embroidery hoop that you want. I’ll be using a 23” embroidery hoop. Once you have the size embroidery hoop that you’ll be using you’ll need to decide on some fabric.
You’ll want to get enough fabric to cover the entire embroidery hoop once and then another half of the embroidery hoop.
After placing the first layer onto the inner hoop, add the second layer on top—this one should cover just half of the hoop, as shown in the photo below. Fold the top edge of the second layer to create a clean, finished look.
Once the fabric is in place over the inner ring you’ll then place the outer ring of the embroidery hoop on.
Be sure to tighten the hoop and pull the fabric tight.
Once you have the hoop tighten you’ll then flip it over and trim off the excess fabric.
I decided to paint the outer piece of the embroidery hoop with a Burnt Orange acrylic paint.
The last step is to add your greenery to the pocket.
I decided to add a little polyfil to puff the pocket out.
You can add some battery operated lights to give it a fun glow at night. Secret Phrase: “Hoop, There It Is!” You can find all of the items that I used from our website by clicking the links down below.
This door hanger is so quick and easy to make. It can easily be changed out for all holidays and season’s. I hope you’ll get creative and give this diy a try.
