I find myself in Home Goods a lot looking at all their amazing home and kitchen items. During the holidays they seem to get a lot of baking items. I am always seeing a lot of amazing printed paper baking cups. I don’t do a lot of baking but I knew I wanted to do something with these amazing paper cups. I have come up with a few different ways to use these baking cups for some Valentine decorations.
My first idea is using these cups to make a Valentine Advent calendar.
To make this calendar you will need:
1. You will need 14 paper baking cups
2. Tissue paper (I am using red because it goes well with the cups I’m using).
3. Glue gun
4. Scissors
5. A large flat heart ( I am using a wooden heart I found at a local craft store)
6. Paint (I am using a cream chalk paint)
The first thing I did was paint my wooden heart I am painting the heart cream to break up all the red i am using with the red cups.
It took about 2 coats to completely the cover the heart. Next I filled each one of my paper baking cups with surprises. I am using candy and small toys. You can also put notes or money them.
Once your cups are filled it is time to add the tissue paper. You want to cut out 14 circles of the tissue paper but they need to be larger then your cups. I used a small bowl to trace the circles and then cut them out.
You will need to put glue around the outside top rim of the cup.
You then place the tissue paper onto the cup.
Once you have all 14 cups filled and covered with tissue paper it is time to glue them onto the heart.
I first placed them all where I wanted them to go and then I started to glue them into place.
I just put the hot glue onto the bottom of the cup and then placed the cup onto the heart. I did this to all 14 cups.
I took some Elmer’s glue and glitter and put numbers on each cup. The kids will know which cup to poke into for each day in February. This is a fun project to do and your kids will love the excitement of getting a surprise each day up to Valentines Day.
My next craft idea is a flower using the paper baking cups.
This is so simple to do and can be used for so many things.
The first thing is to cut even strips around the whole cup.
Once all your strips are cut press the cup down to form a flower.
I then added Elmer’s glue and glitter to the center.
These flowers can be used on your trees . I am using them on my valentine trees. You can put magnets on them to put on your refrigerator. You can get creative and incorporate these into a variety of your crafts.
And last I think these paper baking cups can make a fun and unique wreath.
I glued 8 of the cups together forming a circle for a wreath. I took some valentine bags I had and cut out valentine images. I then glued them to the bottom of the cups. I added a little silver tinsel to give it more of a vintage look.
You can get so creative with these paper baking cups. They have a variety of prints and colors and you can create items for every holiday. I hope you enjoyed my ideas and I hope you will give one of them a try.
