I was in Walmart and I was checking out their unfinished wood items. They have a great selection of unfinished wood items that are great for getting creative with. I came across a small wooden heart frame that I want to give a simple and quick makeover to.
This frame can be used for an all year long decoration.
You can find the list of supplies that I’ll be using down below.
1. One wooden heart frame from Walmart
2. One wooden box from the Dollar Tree
3. Mod podge
4. Paint brush
5. Napkin from European Excellency
6. Hot glue
7. Paper flowers ( optional)
8. Light Buttermilk acrylic paint
The wooden box from the Dollar Tree is a 5.5” box.
I added the light buttermilk acrylic paint to the heart frame.
Once the paint was dry I then added the napkin to the frame and the wooden box. Be sure to remove the back layers of the napkin first.
You’ll want to cut all of the excess napkin off of the box and frame. I used some sand paper around the edges to make it easier.
You’ll want to add some hot glue to the edges of the box. Once you have the hot glue in place you’ll then place the frame on top of the box.
I glued some paper flowers over some of the flowers on the napkin. This an optional step but I love the look it gives the frame.
I added a few eggs to the inside of this fun shadow box. You can add a small battery operated votive to give it a little glow. This is such a fun and easy makeover. I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
