DIY Back Massager Hammer

by blewis | Apr 7, 2025 | Everyday DIY | 22 comments

As I get older I seem to get a lot more aches and pains. I thought it would be fun to make a massager that I can use on my upper back. This will be a massage that will a t like a hammer. You will be able to tap the massager on your upper back area by yourself to get out any kinks that you might have.
You’ll find the list of supplies that I’ll be using down below.
  1. Two packs of jute from the Dollar Tree
  2. A piece of fabric
  3. Hot glue
  4. One 12 inch wooden dowel from Walmart
  5. Poly-fil
  6. Thicker jute

You’ll want to add the dowel to the center of one of the jute rolls.
Once you add the dowel up into the jute roll you’ll then add hot glue to the top and bottom of the jute roll.
The next step is to wrap jute from the second roll around the jute on the dowel.
Be sure to add hot glue as you wrap. You can wrap as much jute as you want.
You’ll want to add more hot glue to the jute and then add the poly-fil
Once you have the poly-fil in place you then add the fabric.
You’ll want to add hot glue around the dowel and base of the jute.
You can wrap the excess fabric around the dowel. I did cut some of my fabric off to help thin it out. You’ll want to add hot glue and wrap the thicker jute around the dowel.
I folded the bottom piece of the fabric up the dowel to give the bottom a finished look.
You can find the dowel that I used on Walmart by clicking my referral link down below.
