With Christmas just around the corner, I’m diving into holiday decorating and thought it’d be perfect to add some quick and easy DIY candy canes to my festive decor! These simple, homemade candy cane decorations are a great addition to any Christmas display and so fun to make.
For this project, I’ll be using cream and red chunky yarn, hot glue, and aluminum foil. These simple supplies come together beautifully to create charming, homemade candy canes perfect for adding a cozy touch to your holiday decor!
The first step is to roll the aluminum foil. You can make the roll as fat or as thin as you want.
Once your foil roll is ready, carefully bend it into the classic candy cane shape. Adjust the curve to get that perfect hook at the top!
With your candy cane shape set, it’s time to add the chunky yarn! Start at one end and glue the yarn as you wrap it around, covering the foil entirely.
Begin wrapping both the cream and red yarn at the same time from the top of your candy cane. Alternate colors as you wrap, gluing in place as needed to keep everything secure.
This candy cane craft is super quick and easy to make, and you can create them in any size you like! Perfect for adding a personal touch to your holiday decor.
I hope you’ll get creative and give this DIY candy cane a try—it’s a fun and simple way to add festive charm to your home this Christmas!
