If you love turning simple everyday items into charming Christmas décor, you’re going to have so much fun with this one! Today I’m pulling out a few humble Jiffy Pots and giving them a festive makeover that’s both budget-friendly and incredibly cute. These little containers are perfect for holding treats, small gifts, or even displaying mini trees throughout your home. With just a handful of supplies and a little creativity, we can transform them into adorable Christmas containers you’ll want to use year after year. Let’s get crafty and make something magical!

Here is what you will need for this DIY:

1. 5″ Jiffy Pot

2. Rice Paper from European Excellency

3. A cream/off white paint and paint brush

4. Mod Podge

5. Gold tinsel

6. A hot glue gun

7. Scissors

I kicked things off by giving the pot a generous, even coat of cream paint. This step really helps create a clean base and softens the look of the Jiffy Pot, making it ready for all the fun Christmas details we’ll be adding. I made sure to cover the entire surface, including the rim, so everything blends together nicely once it’s dry. It’s a simple step, but it sets the stage for a beautiful, festive finish!

Now it’s time for the fun part!

Grab your mod podge and rice paper.

Rather than cutting, I prefer to softly tear my rice paper. It creates that perfectly imperfect look I love and helps the design melt right into the surface.

Now I start by covering the surface with mod podge and then I start smoothing the rice paper onto the surface of the jiffy pot.

Then I give it another quick coat of the mod podge on top of the rice paper.

I went around the pot and added more adorable snowmen to make it cute from all angles.

Now it’s time to add a little sparkle to our DIY! You can use any tinsel you have or find in stores!

I just used hot glue to secure the tinsel to the top of the jiffy pot.
