Christmas is quickly approaching and it’s time to start thinking about how you want to decorate for it. I always love adding pops of red throughout my home for Christmas. The Dollar Tree has some red oven mitts that caught my. I think we can easily turn the oven mitts into a fun Christmas mitt decoration.
You can use one oven mitt or create a set of mittens with two oven mitts.
The supplies that I’ll be using are:
1. Two red oven mitts from the Dollar Tree
2. Surebonder fabric glue
3. Scissors
4. Silver tinsel
5. Greenery and berry sprigs
6. One Dollar Tree mop pad.
The first cut the mop pad into 4 sections.
I cut the mop pad in half and then in half again as shown in photo below.
You could probably cut the mop pad in 2 long strips but I found the four pieces covered the mitt better.
I cut the small hangers off of the mitts.
You’ll use the surebonder glue to attach the mop pad pieces onto the oven mitts.
You’ll glue one piece to each side of the oven mitt. Once you have both pieces glued on you’ll then add glue to the sides.
Pinch the sides together and be sure to cover all of the oven mitt.
I glued some silver tinsel to the inside of the mittens to create a hanger.
You can find the berry sprigs that I used on our website.

These are so easy to make and would look great hanging on a front door. I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
