It’s time to start thinking about your Christmas decorations. My favorite part of decorating my home for Christmas is filling our Christmas tree with all kinds of ornaments. I have been seeing a lot of paintings of all types of churches lately which has me wanting to create a fun and easy church ornament.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Wooden craft sticks or popsicle sticks

2. Dollar tree tin cookie sheet

3. Glue gun

4. Scissors

5. Paint (I will be using white, burnt umber, cherry red, medium green and soft apple green)

6. Paint brush

The first step is to cut your craft sticks.

You can make your church as tall or as short as you want.

I used 3 sticks to make the width of my church. Once you have your sticks cut you will want to hot glue a smaller stick to the back to hold them all together.

I then glued the steeple to the back.

Once you have it all glued together you will then paint the front of the church white.

The next step is to trace the steeple and top part of the church into the tin cookie sheet.

I traced it a little bigger so that I can fold the sides over and onto the back of the church.

Once it is cut out I then traced a triangle into the center.

You will then cut the triangle out and glue the tin piece onto the church.

I folded the edge over and onto the back part of the church.

Next you will paint a door. I am lighting painting a door with my burnt umber paint.

I then used the eraser part of pencil to create a wreath on the top part of the church.

I mixed my greens and then added some red for a berry effect.

This church is so easy to make and can be used for a variety of things. It can be hung on your tree or placed in a wreath. I also think it would be cute displayed on a fireplace mantle or on a cabinet.
