I love decorating with Americana decorations but I always love to have them for Fourth of July. We have created a variety of Americana items here at The Shabby Tree but I wanted to make something quick and easy. We have done a lot of crafts using clothes pins and I thought it would be fun to make a small flag out of a few.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Wooden clothes pins (you will want 3 clothes pins)

2. Red paint

3. Blue paint

4. White paint (I am using a cream chalk paint)

5. Hot glue

6. Wooden kabob stick

7. Red and white ribbon (I am using ripped fabric strips)

8. Paint brush

You will want to separate your clothes pins. After I made one flag I realized it is better to use 3 clothes pins. The photo above only shows 2 clothes pins.

You will paint the wooden pieces of the clothe pins. I painted 3 red and 2 cream.

You will use hot glue to glue them together.

I glued the kabob stick to the back side.

I painted the upper left corner blue and added a few cream dots. You can tie the ribbons to the top part of the kabob stick.

These are so easy to make and can be added to flowers or a tree. I hope you will get creative and give these a try.
