Summer is right around the corner and I started pulling out all of my Americana decorations. I love adding flags throughout my home for Memorial Day and Fourth of July. I thought it would be fun to make a very quick and easy finial flag holder.

The supplies that we’ll be using are:

1. One wooden finial from Home Depot

2. Drill and drill bit

3. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt ( color Lamp Black)

4. Paint brush

5. Pliers

6. Five flags ( mine are 18” long)

The first step is to remove the screw from the finial. I used some needle nose pliers to remove mine.

Once you have the screw removed you’ll want to drill 5 holes into the finial. I started with the first hole in the center top of the finial.

Once I had the first hole drilled into the top center I then made four marks one inch from the center hole.

I made four marks across from each other as shown in photo above.

Once I drilled all five holes I then painted the finial.

Once the paint is dry you’ll then add the flags.

You can find a similar flag here on our boutique.

This was so quick and easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
