If you are following The Shabby Tree then you all know I’m obsessed with chalk boards and dry erase boards. I love writing cute little quotes on my chalk boards throughout my home. I wanted something different and when I saw these magnetic letters in Walmart an idea popped in my head. I have made plenty of chalk boards out of my old silver trays which will allow these letters to be used on them.

You will need magnetic letters and some spray paint if your choice.

I first placed all my letters on cardboard. Your letters will all need to be facing front side up. You will need to give a light coat of spray paint over all the letters. It’s best to do this outside on a nice day. It will take at least 3 to 4 coats of spray paint to completely cover the letters.
The spray paint dries quickly so I had these completely covered and dried within an hour.

These are all magnetic letters so they will need to be placed on something metal. I made a few chalk boards out of metal trays that I got from goodwill. Most of my trays I find are silver so I painted the center with chalk paint. You just need to get creative and spray paint your letters according to where you want to use them.

I love how simple and fun this project was. This is a fun idea to use on your refrigerator too. I hope you all enjoy this project and give it a try.
