The Dollar Tree has so many different craft items and they seem to be adding a lot more wooden items. I recently found some wooden star cut outs that I knew I had to have. You can easily turn two wooden stars into a fun container by adding a Dollar Tree crate.
The supplies that I’ll be using are:
1. Two wooden star cut outs from the Dollar Tree
2. One small wooden crate from the Dollar Tree
3. Hot glue
4. Black spray paint
The first step is to paint the crate and the stars. I’m using a black spray paint but you can paint these any color that want.
You’ll want to add hot glue to one side of the crate as shown in photo above.
I placed the crate with the opening up onto the upper center part of the star. You want to be sure not to show any part of the crate over the edge of the star.
Once you have the crate glued onto one star you’ll then add glue the other side of the crate.
Once you have the stars glued to the crate you’ll now have a container that can stand.
I gave my container one more of spray paint and then added some styrofoam and moss.

I added a silver pipe cleaner to the holes that are in the top of each star. This can be used to hang the star container.
I cut the greenery and berry sprig to create smaller pieces to add the container.
You can add any type of greenery to this container. I want my container to have a primitive feel which is why I went with the black and red berries.
I added a small American flag and a timer taper to finish it off.
This is so easy to make and I love that we only used 3 items from the Dollar Tree. I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
