Every year I try to find a fun and unique gift to give my neighbor. She has an amazing back porch and I knew this would be a cute tree she could keep out there all year long. I added a few lottery tickets to label it Raking in the cash.

Your main items you will need are some rakes. I would have loved to use some old rusty rakes but I couldn’t seem to find any. I did find some amazing green rakes at our local Home Depot.

The supplies you will need:

1. Rakes ( you can use how ever many you would like. I am using

2 for this tree).

2. Drill with drill bit

3. Saw

4. Bucket

5. Styrofoam

6. Moss

7. Tree topper of your choice

8. Pliers

The first thing you will need to do is unscrew the hardware from the rake. I just used some pliers and took it all off.

You will then remove one rake from the wooden pole and slide it onto the other rake pole. You will slide both rakes up the pole leaving enough pole at the bottom to look like your tree trunk.

I then cut the excess of the pole off of the top using a saw. This is where you will be inserting your tree topper.

I then drilled a hole down into the top center of my pole. I used a drill bit that was the same diameter of the post of my tree topper. My tree topper has a wire post that I will be sliding into this hole.

Next you will add styrofoam to your bucket so that you can insert your tree into the bucket. I am using a galvanized bucket that I got from Walmart.

I then added moss to the styrofoam. This is such a cute tree for outside on a porch.

I am giving this as a Christmas gift so I clipped some lottery scratch offs to it and made a hang tag labeling it Raking in the Cash. You can do the same idea and clip money to it using clothespins.
