I have been seeing a lot of wire wreath forms in the Dollar Tree lately and I have been trying to find some creative ways to use them. You can always create a fun and unique wreath but I wanted something different. I saw a few moon and star decorations and I thought it would be easy to turn the Dollar Tree wreath form into a moon.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. One 14 inch wire wreath form from the Dollar Tree

2. Four packs of nautical rope from the Dollar Tree

3. Duct tape

4. Wire cutters

5. Scissors

6. Hot glue

7. Small wooden stars I got from Walmart

8. Silver tinsel

9. Silver glitter

10. Americana paint by DecoArt color antique gold

11. Paint brush

12. Elmer’s glue

The first step is to use the wire cutters to cut the wreath form.

I cut of two sections. You want to be sure to cut the two whole sections off so that you have all loose ends to your moon section.

I then duct taped the ends together to form the ends to the moon.

You will now start adding the nautical rope. Be sure to add a lot of hot glue at the end to hold the end in place.

I continued adding hot glue as I continued to wrap around the wreath form. This takes patience and a lot of hot glue.

Be sure to continue the next section of nautical rope on the backside of the moon. I cut my end so that I can connect the end of my first section to the beginning of the next section.

You will keep connecting your pieces together on the back side of the moon.

Once you have your moon complete you will then add the antique gold paint onto the twine.

Once the moon was complete I then added Elmer’s glue and glitter to the wooden stars.

I glued some silver tinsel to the back side of the stars and then glued them to the backside of the moon.

This is not hard to make and can be used any where throughout your home. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
