The Dollar Tree started putting out some of their Fall and Halloween decor. They have some placemats that caught my eye and that I just knew we could get creative with.
The supplies that I’ll be using are listed down below.
1. Dollar Tree placemat
2. Cardboard
3. X-acto knife
4. Chenille ribbon
5. Black and Rustic Orange spray paint by Rust-oleum.
6. Hot glue
The first step is to trace the placemat onto a piece of cardboard. You can find a pumpkin shaped and a leaf shaped placemat in the Dollar Tree.
Once you have the placemat traced onto the cardboard you’ll then use the x-acto knife to cut it out.
Once you have it cut out you’ll then spray paint it. I’ll be using the Rustic Orange spray paint first.
Once the orange spray paint is dry you’ll then place the placemat on top.
Once you have the placemat in place you’ll then spray on your second color. I’m using a flat black over the rustic orange.
Once the spray was dry I then glued a ribbon around the edge.
This is so easy to make and will make a great Fall decoration in your home.
I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
Watched when you did these. They turned out great,
Love Love these!!!
Can someone tell me if they found the chenille ribbon?? I can’t find any!! Thanks!!
This turned out so pretty.
The leaf and pumpkin are both really neat deco items. Ran to my dollar tree yesterday, no placemats😢. Darn it. I am anxious to see what new ghost ideas you come up with. I would love to see more scarecrow and witch dyi’s. Can’t find the dam ghost with the word. Lol
These are so cute if I can find them I will definitely be making them!
Love these, so simple and yet so pretty!
I definitely hope to try, just got to get supplies as never crafted before so new to this, ❤️❤️
Really cute Barb! I will be watching for them at Dollar Tree!
Turned out great, I love it.
I love these Barb
I love how you made this. I looked at 2 Dollar Trees and couldn’t find the placement. Amazon has the placement, but it is a little pricey.
They were rolled up in a box in the Halloween section at my d tree. Looked like plastic tubes.
I love the Pumpkin. I will keep my eyes open for the trim. Can you use chalk paint?
Couldn’t find placemates. But they are so stinking cute.
These turned out so great!! I think the leaf will be my fave because you have so many fall colors you could use!
I can’t find the placemats yet! I only have one Dollar Tree in my small town. I’ll keep looking!
I did the pumpkin. I’m going to do the leaf next. Love these!!
I love how the leaf turned out. It would be fun to create more using the various fall colors. 🍁
