The Dollar Tree has a plastic heart bowl that I want to change up and turn into a fun light up heart decoration.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One plastic heart bowl from the Dollar Tree

2. Hot glue

3. X-acto knife

4. One clip light

5. One Dollar Tree plastic tray

6. Ceramic Christmas tree replacement bulbs from Amazon

7. Wood burning tool

8. Red spray paint ( optional)

I decided to give my heart bowl one coat of a red spray paint but this is an optional step. When the spray paint dried it helped take away some of the shine of the plastic.

I traced the bowl onto the Dollar Tree tray and then cut it out.

I used the wood burning tool to create holes into the heart bowl.

You need to make holes to add the lights to the bowl.

Once I had the holes made and the lights added I then added some hot glue to the inside.

I put hot glue around the stem of each light you help secure them all in place.

Once I had the lights all secured in place I then added hot glue along the edge of the bowl.

I placed the heart bowl on top of the heart cut out.

I decided to add hot glue around the outside edge and add a silver tinsel.

I used the x-acto knife to cut a small hole in the back center and added a clip light.

This was very easy to make and looks amazing lit up at night. I hope you’ll get creative and give this fun makeover a try.
