Five Below Mirror Makeover Using Spray Paint

by blewis | Jun 26, 2026 | Everyday DIY | 0 comments

I recently went to Five Below and came across an amazing gold mirror for ten dollars. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to give it a makeover.
This makeover will be quick and easy. You can find the list of supplies that I’ll be using down below.
1. Mirror Effect spray paint by Rust-oleum
2. Metallic gold spray paint by Rust-oleum
3. Sunflower stencil
4. Ebony Rub’n Buff
The first step is to remove the back of the mirror.
Once the back is removed you’ll then add the mirror effect spray paint to the mirror. I sprayed some water onto the mirror before spraying on the spray paint. I feel like the water helps give the mirror an aged look.
The next step is to place the stencil on top and then add the gold spray paint.
The last step is to add the ebony Rub’n buff to the frame.
I just love how this turned out and decided to do another one. This time I used a black spray paint over the stencil.
I think they both turned out amazing and will look great any where in your home. I hope this will inspire you to have fun, get creative and give something a makeover.
