Glass Pumpkin Makeover Using Murano Glass Paint

by blewis | Aug 26, 2024 | Fall/Halloween, Holiday | 12 comments

I recently purchased a glass pumpkin from Michael’s that I want to change up. This is a clear glass pumpkin and I want to add color to it. I decided to use Murano glass paint by Folk Art.
I’ll be using three colors for this glass pumpkin. The colors are transparent orange, transparent green and metallic gold.
You can find this paint in Walmart, Michale’s and on Plaids website. I purchased the pumpkin from Michael’s.
I cleaned my glass pumpkin with some rubbing alcohol and then started adding the paint.
I used the gold on the stem and down the grooves of the pumpkin.
I added some of the green to the top of the pumpkin for leaves. This paint is very easy to use and has step by step directions on each bottle.
I filled in the rest of the glass pumpkin with the orange paint.
You’ll want to give the paint a good 24 hours to dry. Once the paint is dry it will have a smooth and beautiful transparent look.
I added some battery operated lights and two small scarecrows to the inside of my pumpkin. This makes a fun and beautiful Fall decoration. I hope you’ll get creative and give this Murano glass paint a try.
