If you’re following The Shabby Tree then you already know that I love having all types of lights throughout my home. Summer is right around the corner and I thought it would be fun to create a light up daisy. This will make a fun and unique summer decoration in your home.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One 12” x 9” canvas

2. One 5 watt clip light

3. One stick from the yard

4. Two paper egg cartons ( be sure they have the raised pieces down the center)

5. Hot glue

6. Scissors

7. Two wood chips

8. Yellow glass paint by DecoArt

9. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt ( Avocado, Warm White and Baby Blue)

10. One small round 4 watt light bulb

11. Paint brush

The first step is to cut out the center strips of the egg cartons.

Once you have the strips cut you’ll then need to cut out each piece as shown in photo above.

You’ll want to use the scissors to create the shape of petals as shown in shown above.

Once you have the petals formed you’ll then paint all of the pieces with the warm white colored paint.

I set them aside to dry and then painted my canvas.

I painted the canvas with the Baby Blue colored paint.

The next step is to glue your petal pieces together.

I added some hot glue to the side of a petal and then squeezed it together with another petal piece.

You can make this flower as big as you want. I glued 10 petal pieces together as shown in photo below.

The next step is to paint the stick and wood chips with the Avocado green.

Once they are dry you’ll then glue them to the canvas as shown in photo above.

Once you have the stem glued onto the canvas you’ll then glue the petal part on.

Once you have the flower glued on you’ll then create a hole in the center of the flower.

You need to create a hole to fit the clip light through.

You need to create a hole to fit the clip light through.

I glued a piece of the egg carton to back side of the canvas for extra support for the clip light.

I added some hot around the metal clip part to secure it in place.

I added some of the yellow paint to center part of the flower.

I added the light bulb and then painted it yellow. You want to be sure to use a low watt light bulb.

The light bulb should be out and away from the petal pieces. I added the hot glue to the back side of the clip light to be sure that the bulb will stay in place.
