I love finding ways to get creative with recycled containers. We seem to use a lot of Clorox wipes in my house which leaves me with empty containers. Since Fall and Halloween are right around the corner I thought it would be fun to turn some of the containers in fun and unique pumpkin decorations.

The supplies that we’ll be using are:

1. Empty Clorox wipe containers

2. Rust-oleum spray paint ( Summersquash and Rustic Orange)

3. X-acto knife

4. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt ( Spiced Pumpkin)

5. Americana Gel Stain ( Oak)

6. Paint brush

7. Crystal knob

8. Spanish Moss

The first step is to remove the label from the Clorox wipe container.

Be sure to remove any sticky residue from the label. The next step is to draw the eyes to your pumpkin.

Once you have your eyes drawn you’ll then use the X-acto knife to cut them out.

Once you have the eyes cut out you’ll then spray paint the inside of the container with the Summersquash colored spray paint.

Once you have the inside of the container painted you’ll then spray paint the outside with the Rustic Orange colored spray paint.

You’ll want to cover the holes for the eyes when using the Rustic Orange spray paint. I placed a paper towel on the inside of the container to block the holes.

Once you have the spray paint on you’ll then paint on the acrylic paint.

You’ll add the Gel Stain over the Spiced Pumpkin to give a more rustic look.

Once you have the container completely painted you’ll then add the knob to the top.

You can add some Spanish Moss to the top and tuck some under the knob to secure it in place.

You’ll add some battery operated lights or a battery operated candle under the container.

This fun and unique pumpkin is so easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this pumpkin a try.
