It’s time to start thinking ahead for the holidays and creating some fun and unique decorations. I love Christmas and I love decorating for it. Snowmen seem to be a must have when decorating for Christmas so I thought we could try and create a fun and unique snowman.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One 5.5 x 5.5 x 3in glass block from Hobby Lobby

2. One 12 x 5 x 4in wooden crate

3. One 8inch chunky slat from the Dollar Tree

4. One 4.5 x 4.5in wood plank from the Dollar Tree

5. Hot glue

6. Drill and drill and bit

7. Two branches from your yard

8. Black acrylic paint by DecoArt

9. Heirloom White spray paint by Rust-oleum

10. Ribbons and a piece of green fabric

11. Elmer’s glue

12. Mica flakes

13. Paint pouncer

14. Paint brush

15. Polyurethane sealer

The first step is to paint the square wooden plank and the chunky slat with the black paint.

The next step is to paint the glass block and the wooden crate.

I gave the glass block a light coat of the Heirloom White spray paint. You can add as much spray paint as you want but I want to add lights and have the snowman’s head light up.

I also used the Heirloom White spray paint on the wooden crate.

Once I had all of the pieces painted I then created the hat first.

You’ll glue the two wooden black pieces together to form the hat for the snowman.

Once you have the hat formed you’ll then add some ribbon of your choice.

The next step is to paint on your snowman face. I’ll be using black acrylic paint for the eyes and mouth and an orange acrylic paint for the nose.

I also added the Elmer’s glue and mica flakes to the wooden crate.

I drilled a hole into each side of the crate to add my stick arms.

I added hot glue to secure the arms in place.

I added some hot glue to the top of the head to help secure the hat in place.

I added some battery operated lights to the head and a battery operated candle to the crate.

This snowman was so much fun to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this snowman a try.
