Summer is quickly approaching and I wanted to try and create a fun and unique wreath for it. I have seen some amazing wreaths in the past that were created using terra cotta pots. We always try to get creative here at The Shabby Tree so I thought it would be fun to turn foam cups into faux terra cotta pots.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Foam cups ( Mine are 12 oz)

2. Small solo cups (mine are 2.25 “ tall)

3. Rust-Oleum spray paint ( color warm caramel)

4. DecoArt Americana acrylic paint ( color cinnamon stick)

5. Rusty wire 20 gauge ( the wire is from our website)

6. One grapevine wreath ( mine is an 18”)

7. Spanish moss

8. Artificial succulents

9. Cinnamon

10. Wire cutters

11. Paint brush

12. Hot glue

I will be using 9 foam cups and 7 solo cups for my wreath. The first thing I did was poke a long piece of wire through the bottom of the 9 foam cups. You will want to put a bend in the wire after each cup. The bend will prevent each cup from sliding into each other. I then hung the wire on a tree in my yard and spray painted each cup. You will want to spray paint the inside and outside of each cup.
I did the same thing to all seven solo cups.

Once the cups were all dry I then slipped them all off of the wire. I cut pieces of wire and wired each cup to the grapevine wreath. You will slip the wire back up through the hole and then wrap the wire around the wreath. You will place the cups onto the wreath any way that you want.

I played around with the cups to see which way looked best.

Once I had the cups all wired to the wreath I then added some of the cinnamon stick colored paint and cinnamon onto the cups.

I added paint here and there and then I sprinkled on the cinnamon.

I decided to add a coat of a polyurethane spray over the entire wreath before adding the Spanish moss.

You will then add the Spanish moss and succulents to the wreath. I placed the Spanish moss here and there and added a small amount of hot glue to help hold it in place. I purchased the succulents from Hobby Lobby and I added just a few to some of the cups.

This wreath was very easy to make and I just love how it turned out. This will be great on a covered porch or in your home. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
