I love creating fun and unique items and I thought it would be fun to create something that even a kid would enjoy making. If you’re part of The Shabby Tree then you already know that I love trees of all kind. I want to make a simple fun and unique tree out of paper plates.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Four paper plates

2. Hot glue

3. Scissors

4. Forest Green acrylic paint by DecoArt

5. Snow-Tex by DecoArt

6. Wooden spool

7. Paint brush

You’ll want to cut four paper plates in half as shown in photo above.

You’ll want to glue one half on top of another half.

You’ll add hot glue to the center of the plate as shown in photo above. Be sure not to add any hot glue over the ridges part.

Place the second plate on top as shown in photo above. You want the ridges part to show for each plate.

You’ll continue adding the hot glue and each plate until you have all 8 pieces glued together.

Once you have all 8 pieces glued together you’ll then cut out your tree.

Once you have your tree cut out you’ll then paint the entire tree with the Forest Green paint.

Be sure to paint the underneath of each plate and the back side of the tree.

You’ll add hot glue to the back side of the tree and then add the wooden spool.

The last step is to add some of the Snow-tex. This is an optional step but I feel like it adds to the tree.

These trees are so easy to make and will be fun to add any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give these a try.
