I love creating fun and unique items using simple everyday items. If you have some old books that you were thinking of getting rid of then you might like this idea. Summer is here and I love adding American decor throughout my home. I thought we can create a very easy Americana decoration using simple books.
You can use as many books as you want for this decoration. I’ll be using about 7 or 8 for mine.
I’ll be using a few other supplies listed below:
1. Americana Decor chalky finish paint by DecoArt ( lace, rough and honor)
2. Hot glue
3. Bling embellishments from Totally Dazzled
4. Paint brush
The first step is to paint the outer spine of each book. My books all have their covers removed. You can do this with the covers on the book or with the covers removed. I painted 3 of my books red.
I painted 2 of my books white.
I painted the last three books blue.
The next step is to stack your books as shown in photo above.
