I’m always in the Dollar Tree checking out their craft supplies. They seem to have a lot of small pieces of scrap wood. This wood comes in a variety of sizes and I just know we can get creative with them. I found 2 pieces that will work perfect for creating pumpkins.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Two pieces of scrap wood from the Dollar Tree

2. Decoupage by DecoArt

3. Paint brush

4. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt ( Spiced Pumpkin)

5. Hot glue

6. Sanding sponge

7. One sheet of double sided scrapbook paper

8. Spanish moss

9. Two Wooden Stems

The first step is to paint the pieces of wood with the Spiced Pumpkin paint.

Once you have the wood painted you’ll want to cut your pieces of scrapbook paper.

I traced my wood onto the scrapbook paper. I’ll be using a different print for each piece of wood.

Once you have the scrapbook paper cut out you’ll then decoupage it onto the wood.

You’ll add the decoupage onto the wood first and then add the paper on top.

Be sure to use your hand and push down on the paper. You want to smooth the paper out and get any air bubbles out.

You’ll want to add another coat of decoupage to the top of the paper.

You’ll do the same thing to both pieces of wood.

You can use the sanding sponge over all of the edges.

The next step is to add your stem and Spanish moss. I’m using some wood stems that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.

I added some hot glue to the back side of the smaller pumpkin and attached it to the top half of the larger pumpkin.

These are so easy to make and you can use any printed paper that you want. I hope you’ll get creative and give these pumpkins a try.
