How To Use Play-Doh Air Dry Clay To Make A Rose

by blewis | Jan 29, 2025 | Everyday DIY | 23 comments

I’m always trying to find new products to get create with. I was in Walmart walking up and down their craft isles and came across some Play-Doh air dry clay. We’ve used different types of air dry clay in the past here at The Shabby Tree but we’ve never tried the Play-Doh air dry clay.
This clay comes in white and a variety of colors. You can find this on Walmart by clicking my referral link down below.

This clay is super soft and so easy to use. There are so many different things to create out of this clay. I want to create some quick and easy roses that can be added to a variety of my diy’s.
A rose is very easy to make and can be made a variety of ways. I made one long strip as shown in photo above.
You’ll want to start to roll the strip as shown in photo above. This clay is so easy to shape with your fingers. I used my fingers to spread certain areas out forming petals of the rose.
You can easily add smaller pieces of clay to the outside of the rose.
I made my roses flat to be glued onto different things. They can be placed on parchment paper to dry.
I cut the bottoms of my roses off to make them flat. You can leave them a longer rose and add them to an artificial stem as shown in photo above.
I glued some to a heart decoration as shown in photo above.
You can paint them with a simple acrylic or chalk paint.
This is such an amazing air dry clay and these roses are so easy to make and can be made any shape or size that you want. I hope you’ll have fun and get creative with this Play-Doh air dry clay.

They look so fun to make, would like to see how they would look if you put a color strip back to back with the white.
