I seem to be cleaning a lot of things in my house right now and I came across containers of nail polish. Some are new and some are very old. I saw a method done last year where you can use nail polish to create a marble effect. It looked very simple and I think it is time I give it a try.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. One container filled with room temperature water.

2. Nail polish of your choice. You will want a variety of colors.

3. Tooth picks

4. Covered work space. I am using paper towels and brown paper to do this on. Wax paper would probably work best but I seem to be out.

5. Glass vases from the Dollar Tree

You want to softly swirl the nail polish over the water. Try to keep the nail polish on top of the water and not sink to the bottom.

You can add as many colors as you want. I am doing 2 colors at a time and I will continue to add more colors as I continue to dip my vase.

You will slowing dip the vase into the water and swirl it around. The nail polish should easily adhere to the glass vase.

You can use the toothpick to grab any nail polish that is left on top of the water before adding more colors.

I continued adding different colors of nail polish and continued dipping.

Don’t worry if some of your nail polish dropped to the bottom. You want all of the nail polish that is on top to adhere to your vase.

Once you have them covered how you want you will then set them down to dry. It is best to set them with the opening of the vase facing down. I do not recommend dumping this water down the drain. I soaked up the nail polish and then discarded the water into my shrubs. These are so much fun to make and it can be a little addicting.

I love how they glow when I added a battery candle to them. These would also make a cute flower container.

These would make a fun gift for a friend or family member. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
