Fall is right around the corner and it’s time to start making some Fall decorations. I have an amazing sunflower upholstery fabric that I’m excited to get creative with.

This fabric will be perfect for creating a lantern.

The supplies that I’ll be using for this lantern are listed down below.
1. One glass vase from the Dollar Tree Plus
2. Elmer’s glue
3. Hot glue
4. Scissors
5. Sunflower upholstery fabric
6. Summersquash spray paint
7. Brown glitter

The first step is to spray paint the inside of the glass vase. You want to be sure to leave a front section of the vase clear of spray paint.

I placed a piece of paper onto the inside of the vase where I didn’t want the spray paint.

The next step is to make a pattern out of a piece of paper. This pattern will be used to cut out a center opening in the fabric. This opening will be where the paint is not covered onto the glass.

The next step is to cut a piece of the upholstery fabric to cover the entire glass vase.

Once you have the fabric cut you’ll then trace the pattern onto the center of the fabric.

The next step is to cut out the pattern.

Once you have the hole cut you’ll then use the Elmer’s glue to glue the fabric onto the glass vase.

I used some hot glue to help secure the ends in place.

The last step is to add Elmer’s glue around the edge of the cut out area and around the top edge of the vase. Once the Elmer’s glue is in place you’ll then sprinkle on the glitter.

The glitter gives the edge of the opening and the top rim a finished look.

This lantern looks great with a candle ring and a battery operated candle.
You can find the candle that I used here: https://theshabbytreeboutique.com/cinnamon-led-pillar-candle/

This lantern is very easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this lantern a try.
