I recently stopped by my local thrift store and picked up a few clothing items that caught my eye. As soon as I saw them, I knew they would be perfect for creating some simple Americana decor. For this DIY, we’ll be using one of those thrifted pieces to create a fun and easy Americana pillow.

I’ll be using a pair of jeans, two tops, Poly-Fil, and Surebonder Fabric Glue.

The first step is to cut the legs off of the jeans.

Once the leg is cut off, you’ll then cut along the side seam to open the denim piece up.

The first step is to add some of the Surebonder Fabric Glue to the bottom section of the leg. Be sure to leave about 2 inches from the bottom edge.

Once the bottom is glued, you’ll then add glue along the sides.

Use the fabric glue to secure the fabric pieces in place. I also decided to give the end of my pillow a frayed look by cutting a few strips into the denim.

Once the sides are glued, cut along the bottom to create the bottom edge of the pillow.
