I was shopping in Walmart and came across this cute paper turkey centerpiece. This turkey is cute as is but I want to try and give it a primitive look.

I purchased the Turkey Centerpiece from Walmart for $7.99. The supplies that I’ll be using to give it a primitive look are:

1. Decoupage

2. Paint brush

3. Cinnamon

4. Warm caramel colored spray paint by Rust-oleum

5. Multicolor textured spray paint by Rust-oleum

When you open the turkey and fan it out it is very pretty as is. I love to change things up and I thought it would be fun to give this turkey a primitive look.

The first thing I did was spray paint the whole turkey with both spray paints.

You want to be sure to give light coats and let each coat dry in between spraying.

Once I had the turkey spray painted I then added the decoupage and cinnamon.

I only added this to the cardboard part of the turkey.

I painted on the decoupage and then sprinkled on the cinnamon. You can go back over the cinnamon with more decoupage if you want.

This is a cute turkey and will make a great decoration for Thanksgiving.

You can find this turkey in Walmart over by their greeting cards.

You can change this turkey up or leave as is. I hope this will inspire you to have fun and get creative.
