DIY Badminton Birdie Angel

As a crafter I’m always trying to create fun and unique items from everyday items that you might have in your home. If you and your family play a lot of games then you might already have a few ping pong balls and some badminton birdie’s. If you don’t have either of these then you can try to find some in your local Dollar Tree. Both of these items can be used to create a fun and unique angel.

All of the supplies that I will be using to create one angel are:

1. One ping pong ball

2. Two badminton birdies

3. Scissors

4. Hot glue

5. Silver pipe cleaner

6. Brown paint

7. Cinnamon ( optional)

8. Paint brush

9. Small piece of cream colored paper ( optional)

The first step is to remove the topper from the birdie.

You will want to cut a small hole into the ping pong ball. Do not make your hole bigger then the top post of the birdie. My ping ping ball is a softer plastic and can easily be cut with scissors. If you have a ping pong ball that is a harder plastic then you might need to drill your hole.

You will a little hot glue to hold the ping pong ball onto the birdie.

Once I had the ping ball attached to the birdie I then painted the ping pong ball.

I want to give this angel more of a primitive look so I added some cinnamon over the paint.

The next step is to cut your wings out of the second birdie.

I added hot glue to each wing and then attached them to the back of my angel.

This takes a little patience and you will have to keep adding the hot glue where needed.

The second option is to add a small piece of paper to the wings as shown in photo below.

Once the wings are attached you can make a small halo from the pipe cleaner.

I added a small amount of hot glue to the halo and then attached it onto the head.

I decided to add a small piece of ribbon around the neck.

These are very easy to make and would look great on a tree or just sitting on a shelf. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
