We are always creating fun and unique items here at The Shabby Tree. Sometimes they are items for your home and other times they are items you can wear. I always like to try and change up clothing items and sometimes it is very easy to do with paint. DecoArt has an amazing fabric paint called SoSoft. I am going to show you how easy it is to use and how you can change up an everyday piece of clothing.

I will be using DecoArt SoSoft fabric acrylic in Lavender and a fabric metallic in Glorious Gold.

I will also be using a Dandelion stencil by DecoArt.

You will want to be sure to wash your clothing item first and then place a piece of cardboard up into your item. The cardboard will prevent the paint from going onto the back side of your item.

I taped the stencil in place before adding the paint.

I am using a paint brush to apply the paint over the stencil.

I used the Glorious Gold on the stem of the Dandelion and the Lavender on the top.

I did one complete coat of paint over the stencil. You will lift the stencil and set your item aside to dry.

I love SoSoft because it does not make the fabric have a stiff feel where you applied the paint. I gave my shirt a good two days to set and then I turned it inside out and washed on a low cycle.
