I have been trying to come up with ways to recycle my coffee cans or any large can you may have. I love to display my trees and flowers in unique containers. I knew that using fabric and Texture I could create a fun and unique container.

The supplies you will need for this project are:

1. Coffee can

2. Material (I’m using coffee stained felt)

2. Texture by DecoArt

3. Scissors

4. Pins

5. Glue gun

6. Pen or pencil

7. Paint brush or sculpey tool for applying texture

8. Piece of lace

The first thing you will need to do is cut your material to the size of your can. You want to make sure you cut the material to cover your can from top to bottom.

I like to cut my material longer so that it overlaps on the ends.

You will want to lay your strip of material down and then place your lace on top. I am using a scrap piece of lace that I cut to go down the center.

I like to pin my lace in place so it won’t move around. This will help when your adding the texture.

Be sure to mix the texture and then begin to add onto your lace.

I am using a plastic sculpey tool to spread the texture on top of my lace.

I am leaving the texture thick over the lace. You don’t want to smooth it all out. I love texture because it allows you to create a lot of texture to your project.

Once your lace is covered you will want to remove the pins and begin to lift your lace.

As you lift the lace you will begin to see your textured lace pattern.

You will need to give this a few hours to dry and then you can glue your material to your coffee can.

Texture comes in a variety of colors. I also did this same technique using a cream texture.

This is an amazing product and I hope you will all give this project a try.

For this particular project I used the bronze color.
