It’s time to start pulling out your Americana decor for summer. If you’re part of The Shabby Tree, then you already know that I love decorating with trees. I thought it would be fun to create an Americana tree decoration. For this craft, we’ll be using a wooden tree from our website.

The first step is to spray paint the wooden tree with gold spray paint.

Once the spray paint is dry, use hot glue to create the lines of a flag on the tree.

The top of the tree will be painted blue, and the stripes will be painted red and white.

Before adding the paint, you’ll want to cover the hot glue lines with gold Rub ’n Buff.

The last step is to add the red, white, and blue paint.

You can find the colors I’m using in the photo above.

I added water to the paint to give the colors a washed-out look.

This was so easy to make, and I just love how it turned out. I hope you’ll get creative and give this tree a try!
