So I have been trying to find ways to create some new decorative items for my home. We recently got a set of spools on our website that caught my eye. After looking at the spools for a bit I decided that we can easily turn them into some fun decorative bells.
The supplies that I’ll be using are:
1. One wooden spool from our website
2. Hot glue
3. One 9oz plastic cup
4. One 1 inch metal bell
5. One pipe cleaner
6. Scissors
7. Maple colored Gel stain by DecoArt
8. Rust-oleum Warm Caramel colored spray paint
9. Cinnamon
10. Polyurethane spray
11. Pain brush
The first step is to spray paint the plastic cup with the Warm Caramel colored spray paint.
I only spray painted the outside but you can do the inside if you want.
I started adding the Gel stain but decided to poke my hole for the pipe cleaner first. You’ll want to poke a small hole in the center of the cup.
You’ll add the small bell to the end of the pipe and then place the pipe cleaner up into the cup.
Decide where you want the bell to hang in the cup and then create a small knot at the top of the pipe cleaner as shown in photo below.
The next step is to paint on the Maple colored Gel stain.
Once you have the Gel stain painted on you’ll then sprinkle on the cinnamon.
You’ll add hot glue to the wooden spindle and place it over the pipe cleaner onto the cup.
I added a light coat of a polyurethane spray over the cup.
