I found myself in Home Depot this weekend looking for items that we can get creative with. After going up and down the isles I decided to pick up two different rolls off masking paper. You can find this paper in the paint section.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Two rolls of masking paper ( one tan roll and one green roll)

2. Scissors

3. Hot glue

4. Elmer’s glue

5. Americana acrylic paint by Deco Art ( color Spiced Pumpkin)

6. Glitter by 143 Vinyl ( colors Sea Grass and Gold Fish)

7. Paint brush

8. Recycled paper towel roll

You can find the labels from the masking paper in photo up above.

The first step is to squish in the bottom part of the paper towel roll as shown in photo below.

The nest step is to cut a piece of the tan masking paper. I cut my piece about 66 inches long.

You’ll want to twist the sheet of tan masking paper as shown in photo below.

The next step is to start glueing the masking paper to the paper towel roll.

You’ll want to start at the squished end of the paper towel roll.

You’ll add hot glue as you wrap the masking paper around the paper towel roll.

You want to start off wrapping the paper tight and then get looser as you go. You’re creating a carrot so you want it to start thinner and go wider as you get to the end.

You’ll be tucking the end of the paper down into the opening as you get to the end. I trimmed some of the paper off at the end.

You’ll add some hot glue to the inside of the paper towel roll and tuck the masking paper down in.

You want to be sure to glue the paper down onto the side of the paper towel roll so that you still have an opening.

The next step is to paint the carrot orange.

Once I had the carrot painted I then added some Elmer’s glue and sprinkled on the Gold Fish colored glitter.

The glitter is optional but I love how it looks.

You can find the glitter that I used here at this link

The next step is to cut a piece of the green masking paper. You’ll make this piece as long as you want.

I added some Elmer’s glue and glitter to the green masking paper. This is an optional step. You’ll want to fold your paper in half and give it a twist as shown in photo above.

Place the green paper into the opening of the carrot.

These can be filled with goodies and given as a gift or they can be used as a fun decoration.

These are very easy to make and I hope you’ll get creative and give them a try.
