It’s time to start creating some Spring decorations. When decorating for Spring I always seem to add a variety of carrots to my decorations. I came across some paintable wallpaper in Home Depot and I think it will work perfect for creating some fun and unique carrots.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Paintable wallpaper from Home Depot

2. Cardboard

3. Large piece of paper to create a pattern

4. Hot glue

5. Scissors

6. X-acto knife

7. Orange chenille ribbon

8. Designer Finishes by Decoart ( color rusted metal)

9. Greenery

10. Paint brush

The first thing I did was create a pattern for my carrot.

Trace your pattern onto a piece of cardboard and cut it out

Once you have your cardboard cut then trace the cardboard onto the wallpaper.

Cut the wallpaper and then glue the wallpaper piece onto the cardboard.

Once you have the wallpaper glued to the cardboard it’s then time to paint your carrot.

You can paint your carrot any color that you want. I’ll be using the Designer Finishes by DecoArt on my carrot.

You’ll follow the directions on the package on which color to apply first.

I want my carrot to have the look of an old piece of ceiling tile.

Once I had my carrot painted I then added the chenille ribbon around the edge. I used some of the paint to grunge the ribbon up a bit.

Once I had the ribbon glued in place I then added the greenery to the top.

I duct taped the greenery to the back side of the carrot as shown in photo above.

You can find the link to the greenery that I used from our website down below.

I trimmed the top of my carrots a little thinner after looking at them.

These were so easy to make and will look great on my mantel for Spring. I love this wallpaper because it allows you to make larger items. This wallpaper is very easy to get creative with and I hope you’ll give it a try.
