I have been struggling on finding the right Christmas decoration for a mantel that I am decorating at our warehouse. This mantel is where I hang all of our employees Christmas stockings. I want something big but I also need a pop of red. After going through my craft supplies I have decided to create a large Christmas star using jumbo craft sticks.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. Twenty jumbo craft sticks ( I got these from Walmart)
2. Hot glue
3. Scissors
4. Red tinsel
5. Red paint ( I am using Tomato Red by DecoArt)
6. Paint brush
Once you have them all glued together it is time to attach the remaining craft sticks.
You will attach two sticks at time as shown in photo below.
Do not glue the ends together yet. These will create the points to your star so be sure that your ends of the craft sticks meet to form a point.
You will continue going around until all your craft sticks are glued in place. Once you have your star formed then go back around and glue all the ends together.
I painted the back and front of the star red.
Once the paint was dry I then glued the red tinsel to the front side of the star.
This star is so easy to create and you can make it any color that you want. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
