I feel like everyone loves wearing some type of jewelry and I always love wearing some type of necklace. We have made a few different pieces of jewelry here at The Shabby Tree in the past. I recently found some fun cross shaped clay cutters and I new as soon as I saw them that they would be perfect for making a necklace.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Sculpey premo clay

2. Cross shaped clay cutters

3. Rolling pin

4. Small bling ( optional)

5. Leather cord

6. Wooden pick

7. Doily ( optional)

You can find the Sculpey premo clay in any craft store. You can find it on Amazon by clicking referral link down below.

You’ll want to roll your Sculpey clay about 1/4 inch thick.

Once you have the clay rolled out you’ll then use the cutter as shown in photo above.

Be sure to create a hole at the top of the cross before baking. You’ll bake this in the oven for 30 minutes at 275 degrees. I placed my cross on a cookie sheet and placed it in the oven.

I purchased my cross cutters from Hobby Lobby. You can find some different styles on Amazon by clicking my referral link down below.

You can create these in a variety of colors and add some small bling to a few.

I used a doily to give a fun texture print to a few of the crosses.

Once they were done baking I added some leather cord through the hole.

I made this necklace very simple and knotted the ends to allow it to slip over your head.

These are very easy to make and there are so many different ways to get creative with this. I hope you’ll have fun and give this a try.
