Summer is coming to an end and the holidays are quickly approaching. We are always creating things here at The Shabby Tree and I love to use a variety of glitters for the holidays. I recently discovered two products by DecoArt that I have been wanting to use. The first product is called a Glitter Basecoat and the second is Craft Twinkles.
A few other items that I will be using are:
1. Glass jar
2. Fall napkin
3. Scissors
4. Paint brush
5. Mod Podge
6. DecoArt Dazzling Metallics and I am using Glorious Gold
7. DecoArt Glitter Basecoat
8. DecoArt Craft Twinkles
The first step is to separate the top layer of your napkin.
I then cut my image out of the napkin. This is a Fall napkin that I purchased from Home Goods last year. I cut the pumpkins out of the napkin.
I added the mod podge onto the glass jar and then placed the napkin over the mod podge.
You will add more mod podge over the napkin.
Once the mod podge is dry you will then mix your paint with the glitter basecoat.
I painted this around the napkin and covered the remaining part of the glass jar.
Once that is dry you will then add the Craft Twinkles. I am using a champagne color.
I wanted to add some dimension to my bottle so I decided to hot glue twine onto the stems of the pumpkins.
I want my jar to light up so I decided to add some lights. These are wine bottle lights and my jar opening is a little too big so I hot glued some twine to the top.
This glass jar can also be used as a candle holder.
This is very easy to create and can be created so many different ways. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
